Bio:

Ruthie Hauge is a staff photojournalist for the Sun-Times News Group, headquartered in Chicago, producing over 70 publications.  She graduated in 2005 with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, where she majored in photography and minored in drawing.  She also interned under award-winning photojournalist, Brenda Fitzsimons, at the Irish Times Newspaper, in Dublin, Ireland. 

After graduation, she worked at a children’s portrait studio and photographed for various news publications, companies, and weddings.  In 2006, she was hired by Pioneer Press Newspapers, which publishes 51 weekly newspapers and one daily newspaper throughout the North Shore, western and northern suburbs of Chicago.

In 2007, Ruthie was trained in multimedia journalism, and now creates news videos and other multimedia presentations for the Internet.

Ruthie’s background in fine arts and current experience with press photography lends her to create more in-depth and dynamic photographs in almost any situation.  She also imparts this knowledge in her independent work as a wedding, portrait, and commercial photographer; creating images that will tell vivid stories for years to come.
